TT 7 (Paralympics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TT 7 (also generically Class 7 or Class 7 ) is a starting class of the Paralympic sports for athletes in table tennis .

The membership of athletes in the starting class is outlined as follows:

  • very severe defects of the legs, associated with poor static and dynamic balance, or
  • severe to moderate defects in the backlash arm, or
  • moderate cerebral palsy , with impairment of the play arm and legs.

The class division indicates the degree of functional physical disability of an athlete that is relevant for table tennis competitions . Low class numbers indicate a higher level of impairment than high class numbers. Athletes with class numbers 1–5 start sitting (wheelchair), athletes with class numbers 6–11 standing.
