TT 2 (Paralympics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TT 2 (also generically Class 2 or Class 2 ) is a starting class of the Paralympic sports for athletes in table tennis .

The membership of athletes in the starting class is outlined as follows:

“The player has no trunk control, no functional stick grip, elbow extension is sufficient, and hand movements are well coordinated but without normal force. All trunk movements are secured by holding the wheelchair or the thigh with the hand, or by holding the back of the chair with the elbow bent. "

The class division indicates the degree of functional physical disability of an athlete that is relevant for table tennis competitions . Low class numbers indicate a higher level of impairment than high class numbers. Athletes with class numbers 1–5 start sitting (wheelchair), athletes with class numbers 6–11 standing.
