TV Langen
The Turnverein 1862 Langen e. V. in the Hessian town of Langen , located approx. 15 km south of Frankfurt am Main , was founded in 1862 , making it the city's oldest association. Today it has around 2,500 members of various ages who play sports in eleven departments.
history
The gymnastics club Langen was founded in 1862 with 24 members and was given its own gym for the first time in 1875, which was expanded several times in the following decades. In 1921 the forward gymnastics club was merged with the sports club Langen to form TSV Langen. This was re-founded in 1949 under the name Turn- und Sportgemeinde 1862 Langen . In the years that followed, a club's own gym was built on Jahnplatz in Langen.
In 1960 the club grounds in Oberlinden were opened, and in 1987 the Georg-Sehring-Halle was added. Extensive modernization work took place between 2006 and 2008.
Departments
The best known division is that of basketball , nicknamed The Giraffes . The home venue is the Georg-Sehring-Halle on the club grounds in Langen-Oberlinden. The TV Langen was represented with its 1st men's basketball team until 2010 in the 2nd Bundesliga (Pro A) and leads the all-time table with 19 seasons. The U19 team plays in the youth basketball league (NBBL).

In 2008 the club won several regional and Hessian championships at different ages. In total, the club celebrated over 250 successes in various disciplines that year.
