TV Eitra
TV Eitra is a Hessian sports club from Eitra (Hauneck) , which became known in the early 1990s for the success of its handball department . He played in the 1st Bundesliga for three seasons .
The TV Eitra celebrated its greatest successes in the early to mid-1990s. A particular sensation was that the village club, led by coach Željko Zovko , marched through from the fourth-class league to the first division. After the team reached the championship in the 2nd league south in 1990/91, they were promoted to the then two-part Bundesliga. In the following season 1991/92 the TV Eitra was able to achieve an eighth place in the southern season and thus qualify for the newly introduced single-track Bundesliga. 1992/93 was then relegated to the 2nd League South. With the new coach Hrvoje Horvat , the direct promotion took place. The TV Eitra could not hold in the following season 1994/95 in the class and was relegated again. Until 1997 the club played in the 2nd division, but after that the Bundesliga match operations could no longer be continued for financial reasons.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary in 2010, the association was awarded the silver plaque of honor of the Hessian Prime Minister .
