Elevation to the city
After Baguio City, Tabuk is the second city in the Cordillera administrative region . On June 23, 2007, 17,060 voters voted in a referendum for the adoption of Republic Act No. 9404, which ratified Republic Act No. 9404, which provides for the elevation of taboos from a township to a town.
