The Tachie River is a river in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It has a length of 26 km.
The river connects Trembleur Lake with Stuart Lake . It thus forms part of the river system that runs through the so-called “ Nechako Lakes ”. The river presents a challenge for canoeists and kayakers because of its white water and its smaller rapids . The unincorporated area of Grand Rapids is located on the Tachie River. There the left tributary Kuzkwa River flows , which drains the Tezzeron Lake . The village of Tachie is east of the confluence of the Tachie River and Stuart Lake. The salmon migration from the Fraser River to Takla Lake is up the river.
