Taddeo Gaddi (Cardinal)

Taddeo Gaddi (born January 22, 1520 in Florence , Italy, † December 22, 1561 in Manfredonia ) was a cardinal and Roman Catholic bishop .

Life

The jurist was appointed Archbishop of Cosenza on June 21, 1535 but was given an administrator to run the diocese until he reached the age of 27. Since 1536, as the successor of his uncle, Cardinal Niccolò Gaddi , also Commendatar Abbot of San Leonardo in Siponto , Archipresbyter and Canon of the Florentine Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Pastor of Santa Maria Novella in Chianti, he was apostolic trainee from 1552 .

Pope Paul IV created him cardinal priest on March 15, 1557 and assigned him to the titular church of San Silvestro in Capite on March 24, 1557 .
