Vladimir Tadej
Vladimir Tadej (born May 9, 1925 in Novska ; † March 1, 2017 ) was a Croatian production designer , costume designer , screenwriter , film director and writer .
Life
Vladimir Tadej began after his matriculation examination in 1945 in Zagreb with the study of architecture at the Technical Faculty of the University of Zagreb .
In 1947 he applied as an assistant in scenography and was involved in this role in the first post-war film by Croatian production Zivjet ce ovaj narod . At the age of 24 he became chief architect and designed the buildings for numerous Yugoslav films, including the large-scale production The Battle of the Neretva . Tadej became internationally known for his buildings for several Winnetou films from the 1960s.
In addition, he also worked several times as a costume designer and film director. In 1970 he directed the children's film Druzba Pere Kvrzice based on the novel by Mato Lovrak, and in 1975 the film production Hitler iz naseg sokaka , which tells the fate of ethnic Germans.
Tadej also wrote the children's novel U krilu bake masline (In the lap of grandmother Olive) and, as co-author with Hrvoje Hitrec, the youth novel Kanjo opasnih igara (The Gorge of Dangerous Games). He also took part in the development of the first Winnetou village in Croatia and co-authored the book In the footsteps of Winnetou in Croatia .
