Tadeusz Miciński (born November 9, 1873 in Łódź , † early 1918 near Czertykow ) was a Polish writer.

After attending grammar school, Miciński studied at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in Leipzig, where he attended lectures by Wilhelm Wundt , and in Berlin. Here he met the writer Stanisław Przybyszewski , with whom he shared an interest in Satanism and demonology .

On a trip to Spain from 1897 to 1898 he got to know Spanish literature ( Calderon ) and painting ( Goya ) and was introduced to Plato's philosophy by Wincenty Lutosławski . In the years that followed, Miciński traveled a lot. He met Stanisław Witkiewicz , Tadeusz Nalepiński and Mariusz Zaruski in Zakopane and reported as a correspondent for the Świat magazine from Petersburg, Rome, Stockholm and Sofia during the Balkan Wars .

When the First World War broke out, he was interned in Russia and first came to Kaluga, then to Moscow and St. Petersburg. After all, he was an officer in General Józef Dowbor-Muśnicki's corps . On his return to Poland he was murdered by unknown perpetrators near Czertykow.

As a writer, Miciński made his debut in 1896 with the poem Lazarz and the short story Nauczycielka . In 1902 the poetry collection W mroku gwiazd was published . In 1905, the drama Martin Luba (with Ignacy Maciejowski ) followed. In addition to other dramas, Miciński published the novels Nietota. Ksiega tajemna Tatr (1910) and Xiadz Faust (1913) and the collection of short stories Deby czarnobylskie . The drama Kniazia Patiomkina made a big impression in Warsaw when it was performed by Leon Schiller with music by Karol Szymanowski .
