The panel sheet ( Astilboides tabularis ) is the only species in the genus Astilboides in the family Saxifragaceae (Saxifragaceae).

features

The panel is a perennial plant that can grow to heights of up to 1 meter. It forms rhizomes . The leaf blade is shield-shaped, circular, lobed on the edge and has a diameter of up to 90 centimeters. The petiole is more than 30 centimeters long. The flower stem has smaller, palmate, lobed leaves and appears long after the leaves have sprouted. The inflorescence is paniculate. There are 4 to 5 sepals available. The 4 to 5 petals are colored white. The number of stamens is (6 to) 8, those of carpels 2 (to 4).

Flowering time is in June.

Occurrence

The table leaf occurs in northern China and North Korea in hillside forests and valleys in damp places.

use

The panel is rarely used as an ornamental plant for the edges of streams and ponds. It has been in culture since 1887 at the latest.
