As day key ( English Daily key ) is in the cryptology and for a period of time, usually for a day , a constant and uniform to-use cryptographic keys called.

It is in contrast to the " saying key ", that is, the sub- key to be chosen individually.

In most cases, keys that are valid for slightly different periods of time than exactly one day, for example for eight hours or for two days, are also referred to as day keys . In rare cases, depending on the period of validity, more precise expressions such as

  • Week key or
  • Hourly key .

In general, it can also be referred to as the time key or basic key.
