Taha Husein Yaseen Yaseen (born January 1, 1998 ) is an Iraqi sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Taha Husein Yaseen Yaseen gained his first international experience at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Cali , where he was eliminated in the first round with 48.59 seconds. The following year he won the bronze medal in the 200-meter run and silver over 400 meters at the Arab Junior Championships in Tlemcen . He then won the silver medal behind the Japanese Obuchi Mizuki at the Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City in 47.55 s . He also took fourth place with the Iraqi 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 12.41 min. He qualified for the U20 world championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , where he was eliminated in the semifinals with 47.26 seconds. Two years later he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished seventh in the season in 3: 07.64 min. In 2019 he won the relay at the Arab Championships in Cairo and set a new national record at the Asian Championships in Doha with 45.74 seconds in the final, with which he was classified in sixth place. He was also disqualified with the relay. In early October, he took part in the World Championships in Doha and was eliminated there with 46.58 s in the preliminary round .

In 2018 and 2019, Yaseen was Iraqi champion in the 400-meter run.
