Comments on the temple name

Not every Shang Dynasty king had a temple name , and a temple name given is evidence that his reign was considered successful by subsequent generations in the Shang Dynasty.

Due to Shiji , the king with the temple name is said to be Zhong Zong Tai Wu, but due to bamboo annals and oracle bones from Yinxu , Zhong Zong is said to be King Qie Yi . According to some, this is supposed to be a mistake in Shiji.
