Taibi Kahler (* 1943 ) is an American psychologist , author and communications consultant in political contexts.

biography

Inspired by the work of the founder of the transaction analysis Eric Berne , he discovered the concept of the miniscript and the drivers (“Be perfect.” / “Be strong.” / “Make an effort.” / “Do it right.” / “Hurry up . "). Subsequently, he developed the Process Therapy Model and the Process Communication Model , which deal with human personality and communication. These models by Kahler were used among other things between 1978 and 1996 at NASA in the course of the selection of potential astronauts by the chief psychiatrist Terry McGuire. Bill Clinton also used the Process Communication Model to adapt his political speeches more effectively to the language of his constituencies. Process communication is also used for real-time analysis of call center interactions.

background

Kahler developed the Personality Pattern Inventory (PPI), which is the survey instrument for his models. Using this tool, profiles of over 1,300,000 people worldwide have been created. In 1977, Kahler received the Eric Berne Memorial Scientific Award from the International Society for Transactional Analysis for his discoveries. Based on his theories, he argues that every person contains six different and differently pronounced personality types. These are called logicians, empathists, perseverers, rebels, dreamer and doers. He also concludes that by adapting your own communication style to the person you are speaking to, this communication becomes much more effective and successful. In his work Kahler was supported by Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton , who described him as a "genius".
