Takako Ueno

Takako Ueno ( Japanese 上 野 尊 子 , Ueno Takako ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz singer .

Takako Ueno released her debut album Good Morning Heartache (RCA) in 1977 , on which she was accompanied by the pianist Mitsuaki Kanno . In 1985 she recorded the album Getting to Know You , on which Takao Uematsu , Tsuyoshi Yamamoto , Tsutomu Okada and Jo Jones, Jr. participated and on which she recorded jazz standards such as " God Bless the Child " " It Never Entered My Mind " and " Makin " 'Whoopee ' interpreted. In 1993 she recorded an album together with the singer Minoru Matsuya ( Younger Than Spring ), in 2007 with the saxophonist Atsuo Shirai , on whose album Swingin 'Daddy she recorded popular jazz tracks such as " All the Things You Are ", " Memories of You " or " You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To ”sang. In later years she performed with Masahiro Sayama and the trio of Koji Gotō .

The music magazine Coda described Takako Ueno in 1987 as an excellent singer with articulate phrasing and a deep, resonant voice.
