Takao Itō ( Japanese 伊藤 高 男 , Itō Takao ; born November 5, 1952 ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

Ito played his first international tournament with the Four Hills Tournament in 1973/74 . However, as in 1974/75 and 1976/77, he was unsuccessful. He caused a sensation in 1973 at the ski flying world championship in Oberstdorf when he flew at 176 meters and fell badly. This distance would have been a world record and also 7 meters above the world record set by Heinz Wosipiwo from the GDR the day before. He could then no longer participate in the further course of the Ski Jumping World Cup and finished 51st. Ito took part on January 13, 1980 in his first and only jumping in the Ski Jumping World Cup. In his home town of Sapporo , he achieved seven World Cup points with 9th place. As a result, at the end of the 1979/80 World Cup season, together with Paul Egloff and Jan Holmlund and his compatriots Shin'ichi Tanaka and Toshihiro Hanada, he finished 79th in the overall World Cup ranking.
