The prelude

At the start of this new format there was a triple victory for the ÖSV -Adler , followed by the Swiss Hansjörg Sumi and the Japanese Hirokazu Yagi - but due to the lack of jumpers from Norway, Finland, Poland, the USSR and the GDR, they had about 15 of the Missing the best in the world.

1Ski flying week: There should be three rounds on each of three flying days. On the second day it was impossible to fly due to strong winds. World Cup points were only awarded for the overall ranking from added points.

Ratings

World Cup points were awarded for places 1 to 15 (1st place = 25 points, 2nd place = 20 points, 3rd place = 15 points, from 4th to 15th place, 12 points to 1 point, descending). In the case of athletes who were in the points in more than 12 competitions, results were discarded, since in this case only the twelve best results were counted. There was a special feature in the three competitions in Switzerland (St. Moritz, Gstaad, Engelberg): in the case of athletes who achieved the points in all three competitions in Switzerland, the worst placement was treated as a discarded result.

For the nation ranking, all points were taken into account (no deletion results).

Points that were deducted from a jumper as a cancellation result are indicated in brackets, if applicable.
