Gebhard Aberer (* 1959 in Dornbirn ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Career

At the Junior World Championships in 1977 Aberer reached 22nd place on the normal hill. From 1978 he took part in the Four Hills Tournament , initially only on his home hill in Innsbruck . From 1979 he was a member of the senior national team and jumped in the newly created ski jumping world cup . In his first World Cup competition in Oberstdorf , he was able to achieve his personal best with 155 m in ski flying. He finished the jumping in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen in 80th and 40th place. With a sixth place in Zakopane and a fourth place in Saint-Nizier , he was able to climb to 43rd place in the season's overall standings at the end of the season. At the American Spring Tour in 1980, he achieved second place in the overall tournament ranking. A year later he was still jumping in France at the World Cup competitions in Chamonix and St. Nizier, before ending his active career in jumping after two eighth places.
