Sergei Evgenjewitsch Saitschik ( Russian Сергей Евгеньевич Сайчик ; born February 26, 1957 in Molotov ; † October 5, 2000 ) was a Soviet ski jumper .
Sergei Saitschik trained in the sports school Letajuschtschi lyschnik ( German flying skier ) in the city of Perm in the Urals, which specializes in ski jumping . He jumped his first international tournament with the Four Hills Tournament in 1975/76 . He jumped annually until 1980 in the tour, but remained rather unsuccessful and could not achieve a placement in the tour's overall ranking. On December 30, 1979 he made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup as part of the opening competition of the Four Hills Tournament 1979/80 in Oberstdorf . On February 27, 1980, in his first competition after the tour in St. Moritz , he was able to jump into the top ten for the first time in seventh place and thus also win his first World Cup points. In Gstaad he also won further World Cup points with 11th place. On March 2, 1980, he jumped into the top ten again in Engelberg before ending his career in 51st place in the overall World Cup standings.
