Takuya Kurosawa ( Japanese 黒 澤 琢 弥 , Kurosawa Takuya ; born June 7, 1962 in Gotemba , Shizuoka Prefecture , Japan ) is a former Japanese racing car driver .

Career

From 1988 to 1989 he drove in the Japanese Formula 3 , from 1990 to 1995 in the Japanese Formula 3000 and from 1994 to 1999 in the JGTC series. He also took part in the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans and finished tenth. Thanks to sponsor support, he made it into the Champ Car series in 2000 , where he drove for Dale Coyne Racing . He started in eight races, with his best result in Detroit with 12th place. When he led the race for seven laps at Long Beach , he was the first Japanese to do so in a champ car race. For the next three years he drove again in the JGTC and in 2004 in the Super Taikyu series. In 2004 he drove a Porsche Boxster for Arktech Motorsports in the Super GT .

He is the son of Motoharu Kurosawa , the editor of "Best Motoring", a Japanese automobile magazine. His younger brothers Haruki and Tsubasa are also racing drivers.
