The Oberbruch viaduct is a 264 m long bridge on the Mannheim – Stuttgart high-speed line south-east of Bruchsal .

course

The structure crosses a valley between Mönchswald and Eulenbückel, between the route kilometers 49.107 and 49.369. The route runs in a left curve with a 7500 m curve radius towards Stuttgart. The gradient (at the level of the upper edge of the rail) rises continuously at 12.401 per thousand in a south-easterly direction, from 177.5 m to 180.7 m.

construction

The structure corresponds to the framework planning of the Deutsche Bundesbahn for valley bridges of the new lines. It is designed as a single-span support system with continuously welded track.

The pillars have a center distance of 44 m and were founded on piles in heavily weathered gypsum keuper and Quaternary cover layers .

With a length of 262 m, the width of the structure is 14.30 m. The greatest clear height is 24.00 m.

history

planning

In 1983 the structure was planned to be 264 m long.

construction

The structure was erected between 1984 and 1987. In July 1984 earthworks began, the bridge construction began in August 1984 with foundations. The pillars were raised in sections of 4.0 m each using climbing formwork.

The superstructure was pushed forward every three to four weeks with a scaffold and concreted in two sections. The shell construction was completed with the completion of the last superstructure in August 1986.

The ARGE Talbrücke Oberbruch , consisting of the companies Walter-Tosti-Boswau Bau AG (Frankfurt), Hochtief AG (Karlsruhe) and Gustav Stumpf GmbH & Co KG ( Bruchsal ) , was commissioned with the construction .

The total costs (as of approx. 1986) amounted to about 9 million DM .
