Talha Uğur Çamlıbel

Talha Uğur Çamlıbel (born June 9, 1954 in Elazığ , Turkey ) is a Swiss politician of the Swiss Green Party . He is a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt . He works as a freelance web developer in Basel.

Life

In 1980 Talha Uğur Çamlıbel graduated from a university in İstanbul with a degree in civil engineering. He joined the youth organization of the Kemalist Republican People's Party (CHP) in 1975 . After that he was active within the socialist student movement. After the military coup in 1980 , Çamlıbel had to flee Turkey. He went to Strasbourg to study French . Then he completed a computer science license course. In 1984 he came to Basel .

He was naturalized and elected to the Grand Council of Basel-Stadt in 2005. There he is a member of the building and spatial planning commission, the special commission for the implementation of the new constitution and the IWB works commission. His political focus is on social policy , globalization , democratization of the economy, economic policy , environmental and energy policy and integration policy .

Çamlıbel is married and has one daughter.
