Talke (originally Talk O 'Th' Hill ) is a village in England in the county of Staffordshire . Talke is about six kilometers northwest of Newcastle-under-Lyme and was mentioned in 1086 in the Domesday Book as Talc .

In 1932 Talke became an independent parish and, after being spun off from the Audley urban district, became an independent parish in the Kidsgrove urban district , which was later incorporated into Newcastle-under-Lyme . Talke used to have two mines , but they have been abandoned. Today Talke is mainly a dormitory city.

Anne Marsh spent many years of her life in Talke. A memorial stone has been placed in her honor at the "St. Martin's" church.
