The Tallahassee Community College (TCC) is a public community college in Tallahassee , the capital of the state of Florida . There are currently over 14,000 students enrolled in the college who can earn an associate degree or certificate in over 70 different courses. Many students then move to Florida State University for a higher level degree. The president of the college is Bill Law.

history

From 1929 to 1961 the future campus site was Dale Mabry Field . It was closed in 1961 when the Tallahassee Regional Airport (since June 2015: Tallahassee International Airport) opened a few miles southwest of it .

The TCC was founded in 1966 for students from Leon , Gadsden and Wakulla Counties . Teaching started in the same year with 700 students.
