The dam Ankang is a dam with hydroelectric power plant in the province of Shaanxi , China . It dams the Han Jiang into a reservoir. The associated power plant has an installed capacity of 800 MW . In addition to generating electricity, the dam is also used for flood protection and irrigation. The city of Ankang is about 10 km downstream of the dam .

Barrier structure

The shut-off is a gravity dam of concrete m with a height of 128th The length of the top of the wall is 541.5 m. The top of the wall lies at a height of 338 m above sea level .

The design flood is 36,700 (or 45,000) m³ / s; the probability of this event occurring was determined to be once in 500 (or 5000) years.

Reservoir

With a normal storage target of 330 m, the reservoir holds 2.58 billion m³ of water.

power plant

The power plant has an installed capacity of 800 MW . The average annual production is 2.8 billion kWh . Each of the 4 machines in the power plant has a maximum output of 200 MW. The machine house is on the right side of the river at the foot of the dam.

The minimum height of fall is 50 m, the maximum 88 m.
