The Philippsreuter Forest is a community-free area in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau in Bavaria .

The 3.01 km² state forest lies on the border with the Czech Republic . On the Bavarian side it borders on Haidmühle , Leopoldsreuter Forest and the eponymous Philippsreut . In the area there is an enclave that belongs to the municipality of Philippsreut.

He is part of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park and the conservation area, LSG Bavarian Forest . Small parts of the area belong to the fauna-flora-habitat area Bischofsreuter Waldhufen .
