Fürsteneck as the seat of a nursing court of the Passau bishopric was the scene of a witch trial in 1703 . Fürsteneck was in 1803 with most of the Passau area in favor of the Electorate of Salzburg by Ferdinand III. Secularized by Tuscany and fell to Bavaria in 1805 . Prevention of a disabled home
The hamlet of Aumühle in the municipality of Fürsteneck (now part of Hutthurm ) received nationwide attention under the title “Hunting Scenes in Lower Bavaria” when the local population prevented them from moving into a home for mentally handicapped children who were difficult to bring up on October 17, 1969. The general practitioner Fritz Loew had acquired the property from the Bishop's Ordinariate in Passau in order to build his third children's home there. When the first seven future handicapped boys and their supervisors arrived on October 17th, they were received by a protest team of 100 (“Die Depperln don't want me here”) led by Pastor Georg Stetter. In view of the threatening backdrop, Loew's protégés turned back.
The following night there was a night watch with about 40 Fürsteneckern. Despite the firefighters present, the former pension went up in flames. According to their own statements, opponents were motivated to act primarily because of possible business losses in tourism and not because of animosity towards disabled people.
