Waldhäuserwald
The Waldhäuserwald is a community-free area in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau in Bavaria .
The 11.47 km² state forest lies on the border with the Czech Republic . On the Bavarian side, it borders Neuschönau , Sankt Oswald-Riedlhütte and Sankt Oswald . It is named after the neighboring community of Waldhäuser .
The Waldhäuserwald is part of the Bavarian Forest National Park , the LSG Bayerischer Wald landscape protection area , the fauna-flora-habitat area and the Bavarian Forest National Park EU bird protection area .
In the community-free area there are two geotopes designated by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) .

- Former sand pit at Waldhäuser Riegel , geotope number: 272A005
