dam

The 15 meter high dam is made of gravel and has an asphalt concrete outer seal. A fixed overflow in a tower structure with a tunnel in the middle of the dam serves as flood relief . The bottom outlet is also located there . The dammed water is the sluice .

tourism

At the reservoir there is a bathing beach with a campsite and water sports. Every year there are a number of events, such as a country festival and a rock festival.

Special

There is a small island roughly in the middle of the dam. This was postponed during the construction phase by the construction workers in a 'beer mood'. It was thought that the island would disappear on its own in a short time, it exists - as an attraction - but still today.
