The dam Seomjingang is a dam with hydroelectric power plant in the province of Jeollanam-do , South Korea . It dams the Seomjin into a reservoir. The associated power plant Chilbo has an installed capacity of 34.8  MW .

The dam was built from 1961 to 1965. In addition to generating electricity, it is also used for flood protection and drinking water supply. The dam is owned by Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water).

Barrier structure

Reservoir

A 6.2 km tunnel leads from the dam to the Chilbo power station. The power plant has an installed capacity of 34.8  MW . The fall height is 151.7 m.
