The Tama Point ( Norwegian pearl knuckle ) is a headland on the Crown Prince Olav coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located 5 km northeast of the Tama Glacier .
It was mapped and photographed by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962 and which they named as 玉 岬 Tama-misaki , German for 'pearl cape' . In 1968, the US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Japanese name to English.
