Tamara Bishop

Tamara Bischof née Mönch (born May 20, 1963 in Römmelsdorf ) is a German lawyer and since 2000 district administrator of the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Professional background

Bischof initially worked as a department head in the Kitzingen district office.

Political career

In the district elections in 2000 she was nominated by the Free Voters as a candidate and surprisingly won against the mayor nominated by the CSU , Gerhard Schenkel. In 2006 she was confirmed in office with 97 percent of the votes - albeit with no opponent. In 2012 she was elected for a third term with 85.7 percent of the vote against an applicant. In the 2020 local elections, she won for the fourth time with 74% of the votes against the CSU candidate Timo Markert.

Since October 16, 2003, she has also been a member of the district assembly of Lower Franconia and belongs to the district committee, the culture committee and the planning and coordination committee as part of the committee community of Free Voters and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . She has been the third vice president of the Bavarian District Council since 2014 .

From July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, Bischof was the chairperson of the Bavarian country school homes association .
