history
After the Second World War , many school buildings were destroyed and the countless refugee children had to be educated. Under the direction of the Munich city school council Anton Fingerle , the Zweckverband Bayerische Landschulheime was founded in 1948 , which devoted itself to the school emergency and from then on made so-called country school homes available to the pupils as places of instruction, far away from the cities, "to help in a time political and economic collapse after the Second World War to open the way to the Abitur for young talented people in public boarding schools and in healthy living and working conditions ”.
One of the most important personalities of the association was the managing director and later long-time association chairman Lorenz Geisberger. He made a decisive contribution to the upswing of "his" country school homes . “With the support of the then State Secretary and Landtag member Reinhold Vöth (later director of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation), this civil servant, who was extremely savvy in business administration and also feared as a tough negotiator, succeeded in establishing the Free State of Bavaria as a member of the until then purely municipal association to win". Lorenz Geisberger took over the management of the association in 1958 and was chairman of the association from 1976 to 1992.
Florian Töpper has been chairman of the special-purpose association since July 1, 2018 .
Educational concept
All boarding schools of the Zweckverband have the same educational concept: “Holistic training in a student / educator community with co-education in school and boarding school and a value-oriented community between boarding, day care and external students with ideological and denominational openness.” “The goal is the best possible completion of one every student. Our general university entrance qualification or the secondary school diploma pave the way for the graduates to a new life, be it a sound training or a university degree ”.
