Tambores is a city in Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the area of the two departments Paysandú and Tacuarembó in their sector 6 and sector 2 respectively . Tambores is north of Piedra Sola . The Arroyo Malo rises near the village to the east .
history
On October 15, 1963, Tambores was given the status of " villa " by Law No. 13.167 .
Infrastructure
Tambores is on the Montevideo - Tacuarembó - Rivera railway line .
Residents
For Tambores, the census in 2011 counted 1,561 inhabitants, of which 786 were men and 775 were women. 450 (232/218) lived in Tacuarembó and 1,111 (554/557) in Paysandú. In 2004 there were 1,720 inhabitants registered (540 in Tacuarembó, 1,180 in Paysandú).
