Tancredi Parmeggiani (* 1927 in Feltre , Italy , † 1964 in Rome ) was an Italian painter and one of the most important exponents of Spazialismo .

biography

Tancredi Parmeggiani studied painting at the Accademia di belle arti di Venezia in Venice .

Alongside Lucio Fontana and Mario de Luigi, he is one of the most important representatives of Spazialismo and was consequently convinced that a picture had to give up its flat surface and thus its two-dimensionality in order to be able to turn to the space. The newly gained space should be linked with colors and a temporal dimension in order to be able to approach new visual solutions.

Trancedi's works can be found in renowned collections such as the Galleria d'Arte Moderna of the Palazzo Forti ( Verona ), Ca 'la Ghironda ( Bologna ), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum ( New York City ), Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá ( Bogotá ) or the Museion ( Bolzano ).
