Tang Lin (judoka)
Tang Lin ( Chinese 唐琳 , Pinyin Táng Lín ; born May 7, 1976 in Neijiang ) is a former Chinese judoka who was 2000 Olympic champion in the weight class up to 78 kilograms.
The 1.78 m tall Tang Lin won the silver medal at the 1996 Asian Championships behind the Japanese Saki Yoshida . Two years later she won the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1998 in front of the Kazakh Varvara Massyagina .
After Tang Lin won the Chinese Championships in 2000, she was nominated for the Olympic Games in Sydney . In the quarterfinals she defeated the Brazilian Edinanci Silva and in the semifinals she won against the Belgian Heidi Rakels , both times through Waza-ari. Tang Lin won the final against Celine Lebrun from France with a Yuko rating. In 2001, the Olympic champion reached fifth place at the Super World Cup tournament in Seville. After that, her international career ended.
