Tang Yijun

Tang Yijun (Chinese: 唐一军; born March 1961 in Ju , Shandong Province ) is a Chinese politician and the current governor of Liaoning Province . Prior to his transfer to Liaoning in October 2017, he spent his entire career in Zhejiang Province . He was there, among other things, mayor and later party leader of Ningbo .

Life

Tang was born in Ju County (Rizhao), Shandong Province, but lived most of his life in Zhejiang. He joined the workforce in July 1977 and worked in Qingtian , Yongkang, and Lishui Towns soon after Mao Zedong's death . Between 1980 and 1984, shortly after the economic reforms began, Tang was an employee of the Lishui Party School; In 1984 he was admitted to the Zhejiang Party School and received a position in the Zhejiang Province Propaganda Department.

In October 1985, Tang joined the Chinese Communist Party . In 1991, under Li Zemin , Tang started working for the General Office of the Zhejiang Party Committee. In July 1997, he became general secretary of the party organization Zhoushan . In June 2002, he was appointed general secretary of the Zhejiang Commission for Disciplinary Inspection. In June 2005, he was appointed Party Deputy Leader and Discipline Inspection Secretary of Ningbo. In February 2010, he became chief of the Ningbo Politics and Law Commission.

Tang became mayor of Ningbo in May 2016. From August 2016, he was also secretary of the Ningbo Communist Party and a member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Party. In May 2017, Tang was appointed deputy party chief of Zhejiang Province. Prior to his appointment as acting governor of Liaoning in October 2017, he served for five months.
