Tange International Co. Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of steel tubes for bicycle frame construction. The company was founded in 1920. Main competitors are Reynolds Cycle Technology and Columbus Tubi .

history

Yasujiro Tanges founded Tange Manufacturing Co in 1920 and began making bicycle forks . In 1950 the plant moved to Hokujo-cho, Sakai , and in 1963 the production facilities and in 1967 the company headquarters moved to Otorihigashi-machi, Sakai. In 1958, Tange received the JIS certificate as a manufacturer of bicycle forks. In 1979 the subsidiary Tange Seiki KK was founded, which manufactures tax sets and brakes. In 2006, Tange started a new attempt in Europe and founded Tange Europe for the second time in the company's history.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, bicycles from brands such as Panasonic (Japan), Nishiki (Japan), Giant ( Taiwan / USA), Bridgestone (Japan), Enik (Germany) and Wheeler (USA) were made from Tange tube sets . The Italian brand Pinarello was the first to use the Tange Prestige instead of the Columbus tube. Today, for example, Soma (USA) and Dragocycles (Switzerland) manufacture bicycles from Tange tubing.

Products

The company produces the frame tubes Tange Chromo , Champion , Infinity , Prestige and Ultimate (in increasing quality). The Tange 5 series was manufactured in different quality under and over Tange Chromo . The pipes are now partly produced in Taiwan .

Tange Seiki KK mainly manufactures headsets and brakes .
