Ivan Lucic (born March 23, 1995 in Vienna ; Croatian spelling : Ivan Lučić ) is an Austrian football goalkeeper .

Career

Lucic's parents are from Croatia . He started playing football at the age of nine at Post SV Wien , moved to FC Stadlau at the age of eleven and, after two seasons, joined the youth department of Austria Wien. He left this after four seasons and moved in 2012  - out of his youth - to Bundesliga club SV Ried , for whom he made his Bundesliga debut on May 11, 2014 (36th matchday) in the 2-5 defeat at home against SK Rapid Wien in the Bundesliga and in the 89th minute for Thomas Gebauer was substituted.

For the 2013/14 season he was loaned to the third division Union St. Florian in order to be able to collect match practice. On August 2, 2013 (1st matchday) he made his debut for the club, which won 3-0 against SAK Klagenfurt . On May 2, 2014 (25th matchday) he succeeded in the 2-1 defeat in the home game against the second team of Kapfenberger SV and on May 16, 2014 (28th matchday), in the 3-1 win in the home game against Union Vöcklamarkt , one goal each, once by penalty , once by direct free kick .

For the 2014/15 season , Lucic moved to the second team of FC Bayern Munich . He made his debut on July 11, 2014 (1st matchday) in the 1: 2 defeat in the Regionalliga home game against the Würzburger Kickers . After that he was out for a long time due to a ligament torn in August 2014 during the professional training camp , so he did not return to goal until April 10, 2015 (28th matchday). For the Champions League quarter-final first leg at FC Porto , Pep Guardiola appointed him to the first team's squad for the first time. For the 2015/16 season he was promoted to the professional squad and became German champions with the team.

For the 2016/17 season he was signed by the English second division Bristol City , which provided him with a contract valid until June 30, 2018; with the option of one more season. Lucic made his debut on December 13, 2016 (21st matchday) in the 0-1 defeat at home against Brentford FC .

On January 30, 2017, Lucic was loaned to the Danish first division club Aalborg BK until the end of the 2016/17 season in order to maintain match practice. After the loan ended, his contract was terminated in January 2018.

For the 2018/19 season Lucic returned to Austria to his youth club FK Austria Wien, where he received a contract that ran until June 2020. He left Austria after the 2019/20 season.

National team

On September 28, 2010 Lucic made his debut in the Austrian U-16 national team, which defeated Hungary 4-1 in Bruck an der Leitha when he came on for Roman Brunner in the 61st minute. On January 11, 2011, he was only used for the U-17 national team in Miróbriga in the 3-2 defeat against the host Portuguese. On April 14, 2012 he made his debut in the 1: 2 defeat in Waldkraiburg against the German U-17 national team in the U-18 national team. In the U-19 national team , he was used for the first time on September 11, 2013 in Vienna in the 2-1 win against the selection of Northern Ireland.
