Tangier is an Unincorporated community in Woodward County , Oklahoma . In the 1940s there was a bentonite processing plant 3 miles east, halfway through Woodward .
geography
Tangiers is about 6 miles west of Woodward, about 300 m off Oklahoma State Highway 15 , not far from a railroad overpass over a stretch of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe . About 2 km northeast is the municipal West Woodward Airport . The settlement consists of only a handful of houses and is located in a forest-free area. There are no bodies of water to speak of.
