Tanja Münzinger

Tanja Münzinger (born July 25, 1971 ) is a former German judoka . In 1993 she was runner-up in the European Championship.

Athletic career

In 1988 Tanja Münzinger was third in the European Junior Championships in the weight class up to 52 kilograms. From 1990 Tanja Münzinger fought in the lightweight, the weight class up to 56 kilograms. At the European Championships in Athens in 1993 , she defeated the Portuguese Filipa Cavalleri in the semifinals , and in the final she was defeated by the British Nicola Fairbrother . In 1995 the judoka from the judo club Nürtingen won its first German championship title. At the European Championships in 1995 in Birmingham, she lost to Nicola Fairbrother in the semifinals and then lost the fight for a bronze medal against Einat Yaron from Israel. At the end of September 1995, Münzinger took seventh place at the World Championships in Chiba . In 1997 she won again at the German Championships. At the European Championships in Ostend she lost in the round of 16 against the Spaniard Isabel Fernández and was eliminated in the hope round against Nicola Fairbrother.
