Tanja Schulte (born April 5, 1975 in Bochum ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player . From 2010 to 2018 she coached the women's team at BV Cloppenburg , with whom she was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2013.

Career as a player

Schulte began her career in 1985 at TuS Harpen and rose with the team in 1998 in the Association League Westphalia . In 1999 she moved to SG Wattenscheid 09 in the then second-rate Regionalliga West , where she was active until 2003.

Career as a trainer

Schulte already trained the B-Juniors of her home club TuS Harpen during her active time. At the beginning of 2005 she succeeded Peter Scheuren as head coach of SG Wattenscheid 09 in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 2007, Schulte led the Wattenscheiderinnen to promotion to the Bundesliga, but was released after the first half of the following season, in March 2008.

For the 2008/09 season, Schulte was initially assistant coach to Björn Kenter at Herford SV, which was promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time . After the team was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009, they took over the post of head coach. With the Herford women in 2010 she was promoted to the Bundesliga again, with the team remaining undefeated for the entire season and thus setting a new record. In the coming season, she was dismissed from nine games after nine defeats. Since October 21, 2010 she has been the new trainer at the women's second division soccer team (Staffel Nord) BV Cloppenburg . With the Lower Saxons she achieved her third Bundesliga promotion in 2013.
