The Tanjero is a river in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq . It arises near the town of Sulaimaniyya by the confluence of the Kiliasan and Kani-Ban rivers and flows into the Darbandichan reservoir after 58 kilometers .

Due to the discharge of untreated sewage and industrial sewage, as well as wild rubbish dumps in the bank area, the river is heavily polluted by heavy metals and other pollutants. Under the Water Pollution suffers agriculture, because the water is no longer suitable for irrigation.

In the Darbandichan reservoir, pollution by the Tanjero periodically leads to fish deaths in summer .
