Tanya Donelly (born July 14, 1966 in Newport , Rhode Island, USA ) is an American singer and guitarist . She played and sang with Throwing Muses , The Breeders , Belly and solo.

biography

Tanya is the stepsister of Kristin Hersh , with whom she founded the band Throwing Muses . Since 1990 she worked with Kim Deal of the Pixies in a side project called The Breeders , which she left in 1991. She then founded the band Belly , before breaking it up after two albums in order to continue (since 1996) solo under her name.

She is married to the musician Dean Fisher, with whom she has two daughters.
