Theater tanzSpeicher
The tanzSpeicher theater is a theater that is exclusively dedicated to contemporary dance . It is located in the Kulturspeicher building at Oskar-Laredo-Platz 1 in Würzburg .
Thomas K. Kopp , director, artistic director and choreographer in residence, founded the dance theater in 2004. The rooms offer 80 seats.
In a continuous repertoire , the “ collective other dance ” (formerly the Thomas Kopp company) presents one or two new productions as well as pieces from the repertoire every year. In addition, newcomers , choreographers, national and international dance professionals find a platform for production and events.

From 2000 to 2012, the tanzSpeicher theater organized the “Tanzlandschaft” festival, a biennial for contemporary dance, every two years . During the course of the festival, demonstrations on a specific theme were shown for a week at various venues. In 2001 the city of Würzburg awarded Thomas K. Kopp the cultural promotion award .

Sponsorship
The tanzSpeicher theater is privately owned. It is funded as a Bavarian model project by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art. The institution is also funded by the city of Würzburg and the Lower Franconian Cultural Foundation of the District of Lower Franconia .
