Tarentola deserti is a species of African gecko.

description

Males reach a head-trunk length of more than 100 millimeters, females of 81 millimeters. The animals are light pink to flesh-colored. The eyes are conspicuously yellow ocher. A drawing made up of 5 to 7 cross bands, which are usually reduced to two spots each, may be present or missing. The head of the species is very broad and flat. The dorsal tubercles are very strong and appear prickly. Your central keel is sharp. There are only a few indistinct side keels or they are completely absent. The tubercle is surrounded by a clearly pronounced, horseshoe-shaped rosette, which consists of intermediate scales . All other dorsal scales are small. The species has 131 to 180 scales around the middle of the body. Of Mental up to the region of the ear apertures are 45 and 59 Gularschuppen present between the eyes (inter orbital) 13 to 15 shed. There are 35 to 33 small dorsal tubercles in a vertebral line if such a line is completely present. On the underside of the first toe there are 13-17 and a total of 16-20 widened scales and lamellae up to the base of the toe. There are 17 to 21 scales on the underside of the fourth toe to the base of the toe, 14 to 20 of which are enlarged, and 22 to 25 scales on the underside of the fifth toe to the base of the toe.

The sympatric wall gecko is typically smaller and has a purely gray color and iris.
