The Tarjanne (also Tarjannevesi ) is a lake in the Finnish landscape of Pirkanmaa .
The lake is located in the municipalities of Mänttä-Vilppula , Virrat and Ruovesi . It forms the northwestern branch of a lake system that extends to Tampere .
The water area covers 54.87 km². The lake is at a height of 96.1 m and reaches a water depth of 67.78 m.
The catchment area of the Tarjanne is 3193 km². It is fed by the Vaskivesi-Visuvesi lake system to the northwest . The Tarjanne is drained in the southeast via two outflow arms to the nearby lake Ruovesi .
Largest island in Tarjanne is Siperia ha 207. Between the two arms outflow flow island is Salonsaari with an area of 490 hectares.
