The Tarrasmauer (also Terra wall , terrace wall ) referred Hydraulic the water side of the dam to the latter against destruction by applied layer, wave action to protect. It is built from masonry and is often curved slightly inward. Examples of this are the artificial ponds of the Freiberg Revierwasserlaufanstalt .
