The Mittlere Großhartmannsdorfer Teich is an artificial pond created in the 18th century in the community of the same name Großhartmannsdorf in the Ore Mountains . It is part of the Freiberg Revierwasserlaufanstalt .

history

The middle Großhartmannsdorfer artificial pond belonged to the mining water management system, the Revierwasserlaufanstalt. It was created between 1725 and 1732 in the valley of the Landhainbach. The dam is an earth wall with a clay seal and a tarras wall . The pond fulfills the function of a compensation reservoir between the upper and lower water supply of the lower district water runoff. Water can be drained from the Kohlbach-Kunstgraben into the Landhainbach and then into the artificial pond via a water tee, and finally into the lower Großhartmannsdorfer artificial pond . In the summer months the pond is a popular bathing water. The storage facility is also used for the fishing industry.
