Tassis Christoyannis

Tassis Christoyannis , Greek Τάσσης Χριστογιάννης , (born 1967 in Athens ) is a Greek opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Tassis Christoyannis has been playing the piano since he was nine years old. At the age of 17 he began studying singing, composition and conducting at the Athens Conservatory. In 1993 he studied with Aldo Protti , in 1995 he won the "First Honorary Mention" at the Maria Callas International Singing Competition.

From 1995 to 1999 he was a member of the ensemble of the Athens National Opera , where he sang Papageno ( Die Zauberflöte ), Figaro ( Il barbiere di Siviglia ) and the title role in Eugene Onegin .

In 2000 he moved to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein , where he stayed until 2007 and sang important leading roles in his field, such as Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor , Dandini in La Cenerentola and Rodrique in Don Carlos .

In addition, he sang and sings at important opera houses in Europe, such as the Vienna State Opera , the National Opera in Paris , the State Opera Berlin , Brussels , Strasbourg , Budapest , Amsterdam and also at the Glyndebourne Festival .
